Who we are

Hired ("Hired", "we", "us", or "our") is an Australia-focused job aggregator and application tracker. We collect job listings from many sources and give you tools to search them, track the roles you apply for, and prepare your applications. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at hi@imhired.app.

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide the service to you:

• Account details. Your email address and a hashed password. If you sign up with email and password, the password is hashed (using scrypt) with a unique salt and is never stored in plain text. If you sign in using an optional third-party provider (such as Google or GitHub via Supabase), we receive your basic profile and email to create and identify your account.
• Your profile. Details you choose to provide about your job search, such as target roles, skills, years of experience, location, work type, seniority, visa status, education, and industries.
• Your apply profile. Information used to fill out applications, such as your name, contact details, links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio), work authorisation, and cover letter text.
• Your resume. A resume file you upload (PDF or Word). It is stored for your account only and used to auto-fill applications and to power AI resume review, scoring, and tailoring.
• Saved jobs and tracked applications. The roles you save, the applications you track, and any notes and statuses you add.
• Connected mailbox data (optional, with your consent). If you connect a mailbox (for example Outlook, via OAuth), Hired reads recent email in read-only mode solely to detect application-related messages and update your tracker. We never send, modify, or delete email in your mailbox, and you can disconnect at any time.

How we use your information

We use your information only to provide and improve the service for you: to run your account, show and personalise job listings, track your applications, auto-fill application forms, and power the AI features described below. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How the "redirect-and-track" feature works

Hired aggregates listings from many sources, including hundreds of employer career pages and applicant tracking systems, job boards (such as LinkedIn, SEEK, and Indeed via aggregation), data providers (Adzuna, Jooble, and the Fantastic Jobs API), and an ASX company registry. When you click apply, Hired opens the employer's real posting on their own site so you apply directly with them. Hired records that you applied so it can appear in your tracker. We do not control those external sites and their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.

AI features

Hired offers AI-assisted features including resume review and scoring, resume tailoring to a job, cover-letter drafting, job-description enrichment, search-query parsing, and form auto-fill. To provide these features, we send the relevant text (such as your resume content or a job description) to a third-party AI provider, Anthropic, to process and return a result. This content is used only to generate output for you. Your resume and profile data are never shared with employers or other users.

Browser extension (optional)

Our optional Chrome extension pairs with your account and fills out job application forms on the live job page using your apply profile. It never automatically submits an application; you always review and submit yourself. The extension accesses page data only to fill in the form fields you have chosen to auto-fill.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information and we share it only as needed to run the service:

• Employers receive nothing automatically. Information only reaches an employer when you choose to submit an application on their site.
• AI provider. Anthropic processes the content you send to AI features, on our behalf, to return a result. It is not permitted to use your content for its own purposes.
• Infrastructure providers. We rely on a small number of trusted hosting and infrastructure providers (including our database and authentication provider) to operate the service. They process data only as needed to deliver it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, it is first soft-deleted and retained for approximately 14 days, then permanently deleted. Hard deletion removes your sessions, saved jobs, tracked applications, and uploaded resume. You can disconnect a connected mailbox at any time, which revokes our access to it going forward. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Passwords are hashed with scrypt and salted, sessions use httpOnly cookies, and access to personal data is limited to what is needed to run the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie (httpOnly, SameSite=Lax) to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal information. Much of it can be updated directly in the app, and you can delete your account at any time. For any request you cannot complete yourself, contact us at hi@imhired.app and we will help.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Hired after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
